Her dress was absolutely lovely, with beautiful lace adornments and her matching veil was the perfect compliment to her gown. We couldn't have asked for better weather with a cool breeze and the warm spring air. Emma started out a bit shy but by the end of the shoot she had fiqured out just what she wanted to do and even gave me some ideas she wanted to do herself! We had a great time with her little brother & sister as well.
Been photographing this one since he was a baby & had the pleasure of photographing his sister's Communion portraits a few years prior so I was thrilled when mom reach out for his First Holy Communion portraits & he was the perfect little man for them!

The Communion Portrait Experience
First Communion or Confirmation sessions are offered at the studio or an outdoor location. I offer the highest quality products after capturing the most powerful moments of your child's life and transforming them into works of art. Let's take an artistic approach to our sessions combining timeless and artistic portraiture.
Communion sessions normally include portraits of the child with a variety of poses. Family members can be added at an additional cost. The style of the session is traditional, classic and timeless. We can include more casual poses if you wish as well as an outfit changed if you wanted.
There are several backgrounds at the studio that range from light to dark & various designs. We will work together to choose the perfect backdrops for your child's special memories.
During the springtime we welcome many little girls and boys to capture This very special moment in their lives.

1. Say Hello
Use the contact form on the website to inquire about your child's First Holy Communion portrait session. Let me know if you'd like to book it as an outdoor session or a studio session.
Outdoor sessions will be scheduled in the evening about 1 hour prior to sunset at a Somerset County Park which I hold a yearly photographer's permit for. We will choose 2 dates for outdoor sessions incase of rain.
2. Schedule it
Once you have decided if you want a studio or outdoor session for your's child's Communion portraits we will then set the best date & time depending on if you want photos back before their Communion Day or wait for photos until after their Communion has taken place, some parent's who worry about getting long white dresses dirty outside do choose to have their session after the special event.
If a studio session is chosen we will choose backgrounds based on your preference. A questionnaire form will go out prior to your session so that I can go over all the details prior to the session.
3. Planning it
On the day of your session we will meet at the agreed upon time & location. These Communion portraits will center around the First Holy Communion child even if adding in siblings & parents. They are the star of the day!
Feel free to bring prayer beads, prayer book, religious jewelry, flower bouquet (for girls) & anything else special for this day you'd like to include.
Both studio & outdoor sessions will make beautiful backdrops for your child's special portraits.
4. Your Session
Within 10 days of our session you will receive a proofing gallery via email for you to browse & choose your favorite images from. This proof gallery will be unedited & will include all the usable images we captured during your child's communion session.
You will have 1 week to decide on your favorite images and once I receive those choices the editing process will begin.
Your final gallery will be sent via email within 2 weeks later which is when you will choose the heirloom products you'd like to own & proudly display wether in albums, wall art, or folio boxes.

I had my daughter's 1st Birthday cake smash photo shoot done with Sarah. I was very happy with how the photos came out. I had a certain theme that I was set on using and Sarah was able to review backdrops that she had (there were many) and decide on two. My daughter has a lot of separation anxiety and was crying at first. Sarah was very patient and was able to turn the shoot around so we were able to get some beautiful images! I would recommend!
