18 Central New Jersey Parks You Should Definitely Visit

As a Central NJ mother of four & children’s/family photographer finding great parks for my kids & clients is also on my list of things to do. I’ve put together this list of some local parks that you may want to visit sometimes or book a photo session at!

1. Donaldson Park: Highland Park, NJ

    Dog park, 5 picnic areas, boat ramp, playgrounds, tennis courts, sport fields.

    2. Thomas Edison Park: Edison, NJ

    Lots of tennis courts, baseball & softball fields, soccer field, model airplane field, running paths.

    3. Johnson Park: Piscataway, NJ

    Picnic areas with grills, sports fields, playgrounds, ponds, East Jersey Olde Towne Village, daily boat docking, access to downtown New Brunswick.

    4. Fords Park: Woodbridge, NJ

    Picnic area, tennis course, street hockey pinks, ponds.

    5. Merrill Park: Woodbridge, NJ

    Picnic areas, animal haven, playgrounds, sports fields, tennis courts.

    6. Joseph Medwick Memorial Park: Carteret, NJ

    Picnic areas, playgrounds, soccer, football, & little league fields.

    7. Roosevelt Park: Edison, NJ

    Plays in the park, family iceskating rink, picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis courts.

    8. Spring Lake Park: South Plainfield, NJ

    Concerts in the park, playground, playground, tennis & basketball courts, walking paths.

    9. Raritan Bay Waterfront Park: South Amboy, NJ

    Converts in the parl. walking paths, playground, sports fields, bocce courts.

    10. Thompson Park: Jamesburg, NJ

    Picnic areas, concerts in the park, dog park, hiking trails, sports fields, & lake.

    11. William Warren Park: Woodbridge, NJ

    Softball fields, concerts in the park, picnic areas, plagrounds.

    12. Old Bridge Waterfront Park: OldBridge, NJ

    Playgrounds, 1.3 Mile walkway, fishing pier, concession stand, Raritan Bay.

    13. Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park: Woodrbidge, NJ

    Picnic areas, playgrounds, paved walking paths, sports fields.

    14. Davidson’s Mill Pond: South Brunswick, NJ

    Small boat launching ramp, fishing lake, hiking trails.

    15. John A. Phillips Park: Old Bridge, NJ

    Soccer, baseball, & softball fields; playgrounds, cricket pitch, & paved walkways.

    16. David B. Crabiel Park: Milltown, NJ

    Playground, paved walkways, soccer/lacrosse turf fields, little league fields.

    17. Middlesex Greenway: Metuchen/Edison, NJ

    Paved walking trails, biking & jogging connecting neighborhood parks, shopping, & schools.

    18. Colonial Park: Somerset, NJ

    Paved walking/bike trails, hiking paths, ponds for fishing, playground, splash pad, mini gold, & paddle boats open in the summer.
